I had the opportunity to work with possible productions who were hired by GMUNK to on a project held by Oculus Facebook. This even was going to be held at the historic Los Angeles Theatre for an unexpected audience for a showing of Rouge One: A Star Wars Story that was co-hosted by Cinespia. To give them a unique experience of VR. A four minute presentation of popular VR titles: Beat Saber, Moss, Echo Arena and Vader Immortal: A Star Wars VR Series. For my section of the project I was work on the Echo Arena, the multiplayer section form the VR adventure game Lone Echo developed the folks over at Ready At Dawn.
VTProDesign provided the set design in the theatre. Building a 16k x 8k spherical map that was run by 22 projects, along with army of lasers that generate volumetric and aerial effects. Also created the hologram screen and LED screens that where placed in front of the theatre.

THE HUD
My favorite section of the project was designing and animating while work on Echo Arena was the head up display (HUD) at the start of the Echo Arena. The Moss section has just ended and go’s to black and we open with are character in first person view. We get launch through the tunnel and burst into the Echo Arena. My job was to animated texture and light the 3D scene provided by the people over the at Ready At Dawn. Also animated the camera and the UI work over the tunnel. Booting up and snapping into place, scanning the arena. For this section even got some direct feedback form Gmunk (Bradley G Munkowitz). Which invincible to work on.
Coloring in the UI elements in photoshop.
The HUD design overplayed with the catapult scene.
3D SCENES
The launch catapult. The start of the Echo Arena scene in POV.
The goal frame in the a stationary state.
I was provided alembic file of the character collision. The lighting and texturing was done in Octane and I also given the asset folder for certain textures maps.
It was fantastic to work on the final goal scene. When the disc breaks through the goals it. Creating these chaotic practicals effects.
PARTICLE FX
Showcasing some of the particle FX that I created in Cinema 4D and render with Octane. Just close up or isolated pieces to get a better look. A lot of the 3D asset that were handed over to me, I’v dress them up with the morph tools. Such the spheres that you hit in the tunnel launch pad or the disc swarmed around the disc played in the multiplayer of Lone Echo.

Special Thanks
Big thanks to Mike Anders, producer at Possible Productions. When I reach out, Mike got be straight away into the project. Also thanks to the rest of the team at Possible Productions, that provided assets and notes. For Gmunk for the notes on the HUD design and animation, just to nerd out on that scene alone. Michael Fullman, chief creative officer at VTPro Design who arrange the technical spec for the project files. People at Ready at Dawn that deliver the game assets for the Echo Arena. And finally to the other freelances that gave fantastic work out on the project
